Dalhousie Public School

Courage is a skill, so we teach it.

Confidence is not something a child either has or lacks. It is built, deliberately, through the right challenges and the right support. That is the Confidence Code.

How confidence is built

Four ways we grow self-belief.

01

Find your voice

Debate, extempore and declamation turn shy children into clear, confident speakers.

02

Lead something

Real responsibility, from house duties to student leadership, builds quiet authority.

03

Take the summit

Mountain expeditions test resilience and prove to a child what they are capable of.

04

Take the stage

Theatre and music give every child a moment to be seen, and to be brave.

The mountain teaches

Nothing builds belief like doing the hard thing.

A child who has trekked through thin air, spoken to a hall, or led their house learns something a classroom cannot teach. They learn that they can. That quiet certainty is the most valuable thing we send them home with.

You will not lie awake wondering.

Because you will have met the people who will know your child by name, seen the room where they will sleep, and stood in the air they will breathe every morning. Choosing a school is a big decision. Come and make it with your own eyes.

A real person replies, usually the same day.
